What they need
Material Planner (m/f/d) | CAIP Hungary
CAIP Group is a global Tier 1 automotive supplier for premium interior components — instrument panels, door panels, and decorative trims — for leading European OEMs. We are currently building our new plant in Nyíregyháza from the ground up. As Material Planner you join during ramp-up: you will set up the planning parameters, supplier call-off routines, and inventory logic that the plant will run on for years.
Your responsibilities
Demand and production planning
- Translate customer call-offs, production schedules, and forecasts into a reliable material requirement plan.
- Maintain planning master data — BOM accuracy, lead times, safety stocks, lot sizes — as the foundation of every MRP run.
- Align material availability with the production plan in daily coordination with production and warehouse.
Material scheduling and supplier follow-up
- Release purchase requisitions and delivery schedules from MRP results and track them to receipt.
- Drive on-time delivery with suppliers and the purchasing team; escalate early rather than late.
- Resolve shortages before they reach the line — expediting, resequencing, alternative sourcing in coordination with purchasing.
- Monitor supplier delivery performance and feed it back into supplier evaluation.
Inventory control
- Keep inventory at target level: no line stoppage, no excess capital tied up.
- Enforce FIFO, control slow-moving and obsolete stock, and propose write-off or disposal plans.
- Run cycle counts, investigate system-to-physical deviations, and eliminate their root causes.
Import and export handling
- Manage daily import and export declarations with customs brokers and forwarders — submission, document review, follow-up.
- Prepare and verify customs documentation: commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading, certificate of origin, packing declaration.
- Coordinate forwarders, warehouses, and ports to secure timely release of goods, including inbound flows from our Chinese sites.
System and reporting
- Maintain accurate order, inventory, and lead time data in SAP.
- Deliver daily and weekly material status, shortage, and coverage reports to plant management.
- Improve planning routines continuously — fewer manual interventions, higher forecast accuracy.
Your profile
- Degree or diploma in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or comparable qualification.
- 3+ years as Material Planner, Production Planner, or in a comparable supply chain role in manufacturing — automotive preferred.
- Confident in SAP MM/PP; strong Excel.
- Practical customs experience with EU import and export procedures; knowledge of preferential origin and customs procedures is a clear advantage.
- Fluent Hungarian and solid English. German or Chinese is welcome, not required.
- Structured, calm under shortage pressure, and comfortable making a call without complete information.
What we offer
- A ramp-up plant where you build the planning system instead of maintaining an inherited one.
- Short decision paths — direct line to plant management and the group supply chain function.
- Relocation support
