MATERIAL SPECIALIST

SUMMARY

Receives and verifies materials from purchase orders and records the receipt into the computer system. Completes the stocking, picking, and issuing transactions for orders. Coordinates outgoing shipments and completes loading of outgoing trucks.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

• Responsible for receipts, transfers, and issues of parts to jobs in a timely manner to meet the shipping schedule.
• Maintains inventory of standard parts at point of use locations.
• Conducts cycle counts for inventory management.
• Coordinates transfer of parts between facilities as required.
• Loads pallets, crates, and boxes for storage or shipment.
• Repackages supplied parts and materials in TCA provided packaging after visual inspection and count verification is complete.
• Properly rigs product for safe loading of trucks using cranes and forklifts.
• Responsible for housekeeping in the general area.
• Perform other duties as apparent or assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings, written instructions, manuals, safety rules, Purchase Orders, Bills of Lading, and Packing Slips. Must have a high attention for detail to maintain part counts in computer system when picking and putting parts. Must be able to use cranes, slings, hooks and other apparatus as required to handle the products safely and efficiently. Candidates with additional shop skills who can work in other areas of the shop may be preferred.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School education or equivalent is preferred. Training will be provided.

AUTHORITY

The person performing this job has authority to stop the process to initiate corrective action if the process and/or equipment is not working properly.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, crouch, and walk. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds
