This position will play a key role in maintaining an organized and efficient warehouse environment, ensuring instruments and materials are received, processed, stored, shipped, and delivered accurately and on time.

The ideal candidate is someone who can take ownership of the operation, establish and maintain organized processes, prioritize competing demands, and ensure that materials and instruments are where they need to be when they need to be there. This role requires strong attention to detail, follow-through, time management, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily shipping and receiving operations for scale and lab equipment, materials, and supplies.
  • Receive, inspect, identify, and route incoming instruments and materials to the appropriate department or location.
  • Verify incoming and outgoing shipments against purchase orders, packing slips, work orders, and other applicable documentation.
  • Prepare instruments and materials for shipment, ensuring they are properly packaged, labeled, and protected during transport.
  • Coordinate outgoing shipments with carriers and monitor deliveries to ensure orders are processed accurately and arrive as scheduled.
  • Investigate and resolve shipping discrepancies, including missing, damaged, delayed, or incorrectly routed shipments.
  • Coordinate local pickups and deliveries and ensure all required documentation is completed.
  • Maintain accurate records for shipping, receiving, inventory, pickups, and deliveries.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional warehouse and shipping/receiving environment.
  • Establish and maintain efficient storage systems to ensure instruments, materials, supplies, and equipment are properly labeled and readily accessible.
  • Monitor inventory levels, conduct inventory counts, and communicate replenishment needs to management or the appropriate department.
  • Identify and resolve issues involving misplaced, missing, damaged, or improperly stored materials.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for shipping, receiving, materials, and logistics-related questions.
  • Communicate professionally with customers, vendors, and internal teams regarding shipments, pickups, deliveries, and logistics issues.
  • Work closely with Operations, Service, Lab, Customer Service, and other departments to coordinate the timely movement of instruments and materials.
  • Identify process gaps and recommend improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and accountability.
  • Ensure the front shipping and receiving area is properly staffed and operational during business hours.
  • Coordinate trash, recycling, and other operational errands as needed.
  • Assist with special projects and other operational needs as assigned by management.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • 2-3 years of experience in shipping and receiving, warehouse operations, logistics, materials management, or a related field preferred.
  • Previous experience taking ownership of warehouse, shipping/receiving, or logistics processes.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and follow-through skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Professional communication and customer service skills.
  • Experience with inventory management, shipping systems, ERP systems, or other operational software preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Ability to safely lift and move up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and move materials and instruments throughout the workday.

Preferred Qualifications
