What they need
About BA Systems
BA Systems designs, supplies and installs high-quality handrail, balustrade and barrier systems for construction projects across the UK.
We are recruiting a Materials Control Coordinator to help ensure the right materials reach our sites, in the right condition and at the right time.
Our products are manufactured by approved external partners. We manage materials, quality checks, stock and dispatch to support reliable project delivery.
The role
This is a practical, hands-on role combining materials handling, stock control, quality checks and purchasing support.
You will check incoming deliveries, keep stock organised and accurately recorded, and prepare materials for dispatch to site. Working closely with our supply chain, design and project teams, you will identify shortages and defects early and help resolve them before they affect installation.
The role would suit someone with experience in stores, materials control, logistics or manufacturing who enjoys taking responsibility and keeping things running smoothly.
What you’ll do
Materials and logistics
- Receive deliveries and check materials against purchase orders, delivery notes, drawings and project requirements.
- Identify and report shortages, damage, defects and incorrect items.
- Keep materials clearly labelled, properly stored and traceable to the relevant project.
- Maintain accurate stock records and record material movements.
- Pick, prepare and check materials before release to site.
- Coordinate delivery and collection arrangements with suppliers and transport teams.
- Keep storage and dispatch areas clean, organised and safe.
Quality checks
- Carry out visual inspections and basic dimensional checks against drawings and specifications.
- Quarantine damaged, incorrect or non-conforming materials to prevent their release.
- Record defects and work with internal teams and manufacturing partners to resolve issues.
- Check corrected or replacement materials before dispatch.
Purchasing and administration
- Raise and maintain purchase orders using our 4PS (Business Central) system.
- Order fixings, consumables and other support items as required.
- Keep purchasing, delivery and stock records accurate and up to date.
- Support the Group Supply Chain Manager with day-to-day supply chain administration.
What we’re looking for
Essential
- Experience in materials control, stores, warehousing, logistics, construction, manufacturing or engineering.
- Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills.
- Confidence checking materials against paperwork, drawings and instructions.
- Ability to identify and report defects, shortages and discrepancies.
- Clear communication with suppliers, site teams and colleagues.
- Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Word and Excel.
- A practical approach and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Right to work in the UK.
Desirable
- Experience with construction materials, metalwork, glazing, handrails, balustrades or architectural products.
- Experience carrying out quality inspections and handling supplier defects.
- Familiarity with 4PS or another purchasing, stock or ERP system.
- Relevant forklift training or certification.
You will need to be reliable, comfortable managing changing priorities and confident raising concerns when materials or paperwork do not meet requirements.
Why join BA Systems?
This is a new role with the opportunity to help shape how we control materials and support our projects.
You will have a varied workload, clear responsibility and the chance to work closely with our supply chain, design, project and site teams. Your work will directly contribute to better quality, fewer material shortages and more reliable site deliveries.
Pay: £28,730.00-£30,940.00 per year
