Materials Coordinator - 6m Contract

We're looking for a Materials coordinator on a 6 Month contract to be responsible for implementing and managing site materials systems, including ordering, tracking, receiving, storing, and issuing materials in line with project and OEM requirements, while overseeing safe handling and OS&D reporting.

The Project
The project includes the design, construction, operation and maintenance of the plant with first production in 2028. Works include marine works and tunnels, seawater intake system, a seawater reverse osmosis desalination plant, groundwater system, drinking water storage and pump system, supported by civil, electrical and bulk earthworks.

Key responsibilities

• Implementation of site materials management systems and procedures

• Ensure the input of identified material requirements into the Materials management system

• Coordinate the scheduling and delivery of materials and equipment to the Site

• Manage the safe offloading of materials from trailers and the unpacking of transport and shipping containers

• Receipt and store materials in compliance with the OEM requirements

• Implement materials receipting, OS&D reporting, warehousing and work pack development and issuance to construction processes and procedures

• Work closely with Construction on reviewing the availability of materials for workpack development and issuing to Construction workfronts

• Work with Construction to plan and forecast site plant equipment requirements including mobilisation and demobilisation dates

• Work with plant and equipment hire companies on the mobilisation and demobilisation of plant and equipment to maximise

• Work with cost control on the forecast of plant and equipment control accounts.

• Strong experience in applying health and safety standard to materials offloading and storage facilities

• 5 years warehousing, laydown and materials management experience

• Materials management experience working in multi-discipline complex projects

• Experience in setting up and operating site materials storage yards and warehousing

• Experience in the utilisation of a materials management system

• Experience working with construction teams on the tracking and coordinating of materials tracking, receipt, storage and issuing to Construction

• Experience working with construction teams on the tracking and coordinating of plant and equipment
