What they need
McNally delivers turnkey design, manufacturing and construction solutions for mining villages and non-process infrastructure across Western Australia.
We are looking for a reliable, organised and detail-focused Materials Coordinator to support the accurate packing, tracking and dispatch preparation of materials required for McNally projects.
This is a great opportunity for someone with basic stores, warehouse, yard, logistics, construction or materials-handling experience who is ready to build their skills in a busy project-based environment.
You do not need to be a highly experienced Materials Coordinator, but you do need to be practical, physically capable, safety-conscious, willing to learn and able to follow through on tasks properly.
You will help ensure loose parts, raw materials, equipment and components are correctly identified, recorded, labelled, photographed, packed and ready for dispatch to site.
This is a full-time Perth-based role, Monday to Friday, working approximately 45-50 hours per week.
At McNally, we take the work seriously, but not ourselves. Fun is one of our values, so laughter and light-hearted moments are part of how we build strong teams, stay resilient and enjoy the challenge. You will suit us if you are reliable, organised, communicate clearly, take responsibility, play above the line and bring an All in mindset.
The role
Reporting to the Supervisors and Construction Manager, you will support the coordination, tracking and dispatch preparation of materials for McNally projects.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Sorting, staging, packing and preparing loose parts, raw materials, equipment and components for project sites
- Checking materials against purchase, delivery and project requirements, including quantity and condition
- Recording quantities, descriptions, serial numbers, model numbers and other identifying information where required
- Taking clear photographs of items and packed materials before dispatch and filing records correctly
- Helping maintain material and dispatch registers showing what has been received, sent to site and remains outstanding
- Preparing packing lists, labels and dispatch records to ensure materials are clear and traceable
- Packing, protecting and labelling materials appropriately for transport and efficient receipt on site
- Tracking outstanding or missing materials and raising shortages early
- Reporting damaged, incorrect or unaccounted-for materials
- Coordinating with logistics and transport providers so materials are staged and ready for collection on time
- Updating inventory and material location information using Microsoft Excel and company systems
- Assisting with stocktakes, cycle counts and reconciliation of project materials
- Undertaking regular manual handling and movement of materials using safe work practices and appropriate equipment
- Operating forklifts, pallet jacks and other materials-handling equipment safely when trained, licensed and authorised
- Keeping storage, staging and packing areas clean, safe and organised
About you
You are practical, reliable and willing to get stuck in. You take pride in doing things properly, keeping work areas organised and supporting the wider team.
You may have worked in stores, warehousing, yard work, logistics, labouring, manufacturing, construction or another hands-on role. You might still be developing your materials coordination experience, but you are comfortable with physical work, basic computer tasks and learning new systems.
You will bring:
- Basic stores, warehouse, yard, logistics, manufacturing, construction or materials-handling experience
- A reliable, hands-on attitude and willingness to learn
- Ability and willingness to undertake regular manual handling and physical materials duties
- Current High Risk Work Licence – Forklift (LF), required
- Current Australian Driver Licence, essential
- Basic to intermediate computer skills, including willingness to use Outlook, Excel and company systems
- Good attention to detail when checking, counting, labelling and recording materials
- Confidence taking photos, saving records and following simple tracking processes
- Clear communication skills and the confidence to ask questions when unsure
- A safety-conscious approach to loading, unloading, packing, forklift operation and housekeeping
- Pride in keeping work areas clean, tidy and organised
- A genuine commitment to teamwork, quality and McNally’s values
What we offer
- Full-time Perth-based role
- Monday to Friday work, approximately 45-50 hours per week, with penalty rates applying
- Exposure to modular manufacturing, project dispatch and WA resources projects
- Opportunity to learn and grow within materials, stores and logistics
- Supportive procurement, fabrication, logistics and project teams
- A values-led culture that backs people who take pride in their work
- Access to our Employee Assistance Program
At McNally, our purpose is to build better: better people, better relationships and better projects.
