Materials Engineer 1

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Registered Civil Engineer with DPWH Materials Engineer 1 (ME-1) Accreditation to join our Quality Control team. In this role, you will be primarily responsible for conducting Field Density Tests (FDT) and ensuring that all construction materials and earthworks meet the rigorous quality standards required for our Triple A infrastructure and horizontal projects (such as roads, highways, and earthworks).

Key Responsibilities

Field Testing & FDT:

· Conduct Field Density Tests (FDT)—primarily using the sand cone method—on subgrade, subbase, base course, and compacted embankments.

· Determine the in-place density and moisture content of soils and aggregates to ensure compliance with compaction specifications.

Material Quality Control:

· Perform routine sampling and field testing of construction materials (aggregates, soils, asphalt, and concrete).

· Inspect delivered materials on-site to ensure they conform to project specifications and DPWH standards.

Documentation & Reporting:

· Maintain accurate daily logs, testing records, and FDT results.

· Prepare and submit comprehensive Quality Control (QC) reports to the Project Manager and DPWH representatives.

Coordination & Compliance:

· Coordinate closely with project engineers, safety officers, and DPWH testing personnel for joint testing and quality inspections.

· Strictly adhere to the DPWH Standard Specifications for Highways, Bridges, and Airports (Blue Book) and company safety protocols.

Qualifications & Requirements

Valid Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) License as a Civil Engineer.

Valid DPWH Materials Engineer 1 (ME-1) accreditation.

At least 1 to 3 years of experience in quality control testing, specifically handling horizontal construction projects (roads, earthworks, pavements).

Skills:

Proficient in operating FDT equipment and soil laboratory testing procedures.

Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail.

Good communication and reporting skills.

Physically fit for field and site-based work.
