• Accountable for supporting material selection and usage for Proof of Principle (POP) Device specifications and architecture to the Development Teams.
• Accountable for supporting the investigation and verification of novel materials, and making proposals to the Development Teams.
• Accountable for Material Engineering Lab management.
• Maintain regular working-level contact with internal and external teams and departments.
• Work closely with the Industrial Design colleagues to ensure that materials are available to meet design requirements of products. EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE ESSENTIAL Experience Required
• In-depth materials knowledge across polymers, metals, and ceramics
• Hands on experience in selecting and evaluating materials for electronic consumer devices.
• Awareness of high-volume manufacturing methods; injection moulding, extrusion, CNC
• Experience of selecting materials for food-safe and skin-contact applications Technical / Functional / Leadership Skills Required
• Planning, implementation, communication, and collaboration skills working internally and with external partners.
• Persistence, attention to detail, and curiosity to fundamentals.
• Knowledge of scientific method of analysing materials and evaluating performance Education / Qualifications / Certifications Required
• Major in Materials Engineering, Materials Science, or related subject.
• Significant (5+ years for Bachelor’s Degree and 2+ years for Master degree and above) experience in materials-related roles, excellent candidate can reduce the experience year requirement.
