Materials Handler

General Function; Receives, stores and issues materials, food stuff and equipment. Take inventory, Makes postings on inventory sheets and assist with special projects. This position insures that all reference lab specimens are picked up and delivered to the lab timely. Provides courier service for all other departments when time permits.

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS

• Educational Requirements: High School diploma required.
• Experience Requirements: Hospital experience preferred or experience in a warehouse or stores setting.
• Special Requirements: Must be able to maintain numerous projects at one time. Must be able to meet tight deadlines. Appears in appropriate attire daily. Consistently behaves in a professional manner. Dependable in attendance and productivity.

JOB RELATED HAZARDS: Work requires periods of prolonged standing and walking. This includes moving large carts and hand trucks through the facility. Safety hazards associated with this job includes the potential to come into contact with infectious and hazardous materials and mechanical hazards.
