Materials Manager

To manage the materials planning and supply process to ensure customer demand is translated into accurate material requirements and that materials are ordered, expedited and delivered on time, in full and at the appropriate cost to support uninterrupted production. Drives operational excellence across the materials pipeline by managing team and supplier performance, inventory, costs and supply risks and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to achieve production and customer delivery objectives.

? Drive performance and execution to ensure operational efficiencies and achievement of team KPIs

? Manage workforce planning to ensure optimal staffing levels and alignment of skills with business requirements.

? Review safety stock requirements throughout project lifecycles.

? Track and report project performance against cost, quality, delivery and launch objectives implementing corrective actions where required.

? Manage the materials MRP planning through supplier ordering, expediting and delivery to the warehouse.

? Validate demand fluctuations and adjust supply plans in collaboration with Planning, Commercial and Production to maintain production continuity.

? Manage operational relationships with suppliers, resolving delivery delays, capacity constraints, quality concerns and supply issues escalated by the Expediters.

? Review supplier performance scorecards monthly, identifying trends and implementing corrective actions in collaboration with Quality and Strategic Sourcing.

? Analyse MRP outputs and pipeline performance.

? Monitor demand fluctuations and supply risks.

? Prepare production stability reports.

? Provide material shortage reporting.

? Challenge inefficient practices and drives continuous improvement in inventory utilisation, container utilisation and freight efficiency.

? Develop and monitor mitigation plans.

? Support internal and external audits.

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain/Logistics. A registered CIPS (Charted Institute oof Procurement and Supply) would be an added advantage. Minimum of seven (7) years in supply chain and two (2) years’ experience in a leadership role within the manufacturing environment with Automotive environment an added advantage.
