Materials Planner

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Materials Planner to join INVENTEC APPLIANCES (MALAYSIA) SDN. BHD. in Bayan Lepas, Penang. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in optimising our inventory operations and supporting the efficiency of our manufacturing and logistics operations. As a Materials Planner, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, managing stock levels, and ensuring seamless coordination between procurement, production, and distribution functions. This role is integral to minimising costs, reducing waste, and ensuring product availability to meet operational demands.

Key responsibilities

1. Monitor and maintain accurate inventory records using inventory management systems and ensure data integrity across all warehouse locations.
2. Strong knowledge of inventory control principles and inventory planning.
3. Familiarity with MRP (Material Requirements Planning) and ERP systems (e.g., SAP or equivalent).
4. Solid understanding of inventory replenishment, safety stock management, and demand planning.
5. Experience in cycle counting, physical inventory, and inventory reconciliation.
6. Knowledge of FIFO (First In, First Out), FEFO (First Expired, First Out), and inventory optimization methodologies.
7. Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel.

What we're looking for

1. Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field
2. 2 + years of experience in inventory management, warehouse operations, or supply chain roles within manufacturing or logistics environments
3. Proficiency in inventory management systems and enterprise resource planning (ERP) software
4. Strong knowledge of inventory control principles, stock valuation methods, and warehouse management best practices
5. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify trends and implement improvements
6. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools
7. Strong organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail
8. Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments
9. Knowledge of manufacturing processes and supply chain operations is highly advantageous
10. Experience with lean principles or continuous improvement methodologies is desirable
11. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
