What they need

Responsibilities:

  1. Own the end-to-end process implementation and quality control for SMA material manufacturing from post-smelting through to finished product — including hot forging, cold forging, hot rolling, cold rolling, and machining processes.

  2. Develop, optimize, and standardize process parameters for each production stage; ensure process stability, yield, and cost efficiency at scale.

  3. Conduct microstructural characterization and mechanical/functional property testing of processed materials; analyze deformation mechanisms; identify and implement targeted performance improvement measures.

  4. Drive process optimization and pilot-scale transfer of scalable fabrication technologies, including powder metallurgy (MIM, SPS, additive manufacturing) and alloy sheet/tube/wire production.

  5. Supervise production processes on the shop floor; coordinate with operations teams to resolve process anomalies and quality issues in real time.

  6. Engage with industry partners and suppliers; participate in or lead process evaluation and risk control during scale-up; support transition to full mass production.

Requirements:

  1. Master's degree or above in Materials Science and Engineering, Metallic Materials, Materials Processing, Metallurgical Engineering, or a related discipline.

  2. 3+ years of in-depth hands-on experience in material process design, process parameter tuning, production supervision, process optimization, and material performance control; experience with SMA, nickel-based, titanium-based, or high-entropy alloy systems is preferred.

  3. Solid understanding of post-smelting metal forming processes (forging, rolling, drawing, machining); ability to independently design process routes and troubleshoot production issues.

  4. Familiarity with scalable alloy fabrication technologies including powder metallurgy (MIM, SPS, 3D printing) and sheet/tube/wire manufacturing; knowledge of microstructural standards and deformation mechanism analysis.

  5. Publication record as first author or key contributor in leading peer-reviewed journals in the field of metallic materials or materials processing is a plus.

  6. Hands-on experience with industry-scale production workflows; ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with industrial partners and suppliers.

  7. Strong self-motivation, systematic work planning, high execution efficiency, and a drive for innovation and continuous improvement.

  8. Excellent teamwork, communication, and cross-functional coordination skills.
