Materials Runner

We are looking for a reliable and motivated Materials Runner to support our construction and property maintenance teams. This position is responsible for picking up and delivering building materials, tools, supplies, appliances, and other items needed at our properties and job sites throughout Columbus.

The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, able to work independently, and comfortable driving throughout the Columbus area. This is a hands-on position that requires good communication, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize multiple requests throughout the day.

Key Responsibilities

• Pick up and deliver construction materials, tools, equipment, appliances, and supplies to job sites.
• Purchase materials from suppliers, hardware stores, and other vendors as requested.
• Verify materials against purchase orders, receipts, or work orders before leaving the store.
• Load and unload materials safely.
• Deliver materials to the correct property or job site and communicate with the appropriate contractor or team member.
• Pick up returned, damaged, or unused materials from job sites.
• Assist with moving materials and supplies around properties when needed.
• Keep receipts and delivery documentation organized and submit them promptly.
• Communicate any material shortages, incorrect orders, delays, or damaged items to management.
• Maintain an organized vehicle and ensure materials are transported safely.
• Help maintain inventory of commonly used materials and supplies.
• Complete occasional property-related errands and support the maintenance/construction team as needed.
• Follow all company safety procedures while driving, loading, unloading, and working around job sites.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Clean and safe driving record.
• Ability to lift and carry materials and supplies, including items weighing approximately 50 lbs.
• Reliable, punctual, and dependable.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Comfortable using a smartphone for calls, texts, maps, photos, and work-related communication.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple deliveries and requests.
• Basic knowledge of construction materials, hardware, plumbing, electrical, or property maintenance is a plus.
• Previous experience in construction, maintenance, property management, delivery, or a similar field is preferred but not required.

Pay: $15.00 - $25.00 per hour
