Materials Specialist

Avo Photonics is a dynamic contract engineering services company that designs, develops, and manufactures custom opto-electronic products for a large customer base.

We seek a diligent, dedicated, and meticulous person who will help further our success and reputation in the industry. The successful candidate will have at least two years of inventory manufacturing experience.

Specifically:

• Process rejected materials returned from the Production and Engineering Debug teams
• Ensure all recovered materials are labeled with the appropriate Avo Part Number and Material Lot Number before being returned to inventory
• Track and manage recovered materials, ensuring accurate inventory transactions and adjustments in SAP
• Coordinate the movement of recovered materials back into production
• Monitor parts requiring rework, maintaining accurate tracking and documentation throughout the rework process while ensuring timely disposition
• Perform daily cycle counts of quarantined material
• Participate in semiannual physical inventory counts

Requirements:

• High school diploma or A.S.
• 2 years of inventory experience in a manufacturing environment
• Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
• Knowledge of inventory control and material handling best practices
• Experience operating within an ISO9001-certified company
• Experienced with ERP systems (SAP preferred)
• Highly organized and efficient at prioritizing workload
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
• Must be able to lift 30 lbs
