Materials Technician - 2nd Shift

Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Materials Technician for 2nd shift to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the material and related equipment from receipt through the stages of warehousing and preparation to production as well as recycling.

Pay & Schedule

• Pay: $20-$22 per hour
• Night Shift Premium: Additional 10% premium
• 2nd Shift: Monday-Friday, 2pm-10:30pm
• Occasional overtime and weekend work may be required, based on business & production needs

What You'll Do

• Move, process, stage, and inventory materials while maintaining accurate quantities and material traceability.
• Provide the material supply and equipment availability necessary to support manufacturing requirements.
• Operate a forklift to safely move materials throughout the facility and load/unload trucks.
• Use ERP and MES systems, computers, and smartphones to manage inventory, material flow, and work activities.
• Weigh and blend batches and process, regrind, and dry plastic and other production raw materials.
• Maintain the recycling and regrind areas and associated operations.
• Clean and maintain material-handling equipment and help keep the work environment clean and orderly.
• Follow First-In, First-Out (FIFO) procedures for material movement.
• Perform equipment repairs and preventative maintenance related to material handling as required.
• Follow ESS TEC procedures, work instructions, and operating systems.
• Work safely to protect yourself, coworkers, equipment, and product quality.
• Communicate clearly and effectively through verbal, written, and electronic communication.
• Understand the company's Quality Policy and how your role contributes to quality objectives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Current forklift license/certification required; previous forklift experience preferred.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Comfortable working with computers, smartphones, ERP/MES systems, and other technology.
• Ability to follow written work instructions, procedures, and safety requirements.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
• Goal-oriented with the ability to meet production schedules and required time frames.
• Dependable, honest, and committed to maintaining a high level of integrity.
• Ability to maintain excellent attendance; position requires a 98% or better attendance record.
• Must be willing to work the assigned 2nd shift and occasional weekends or overtime as business needs require.
