Math Teacher

YWLA is seeking high quality candidates for the position of Mathematics Teacher.

The mission of the Young Women’s Leadership Academy of Las Vegas is to provide a choice for Las Vegas area public school families who are interested in a high-quality, “whole girl” education model. The school is a 6th - 11th grade secondary campus for the 2026-2027 school year. Every year we will add one grade level until we are a full 6th-12th grade campus. We aim to provide college preparatory academic programming paired with nationally-recognized best practices in education to create a learning environment that positions our scholars to lead in school and beyond.

Minimum Qualifications Required:

• Valid Nevada teaching license
• Bachelor's Degree
• Possesses the ability to pass a pre-employment criminal history background check and fingerprinting.

• Experience working with special student populations, including students with developmental disabilities and GATE students
• Demonstrates proficiency in communication, both oral and written, among parents, students, colleagues, and other stakeholders
• Demonstrates proficiency in technology integration
• Familiarity with Infinite Campus
• Experience working with educational technology platforms such as Google Drive, Edmodo, Seesaw, etc
• Demonstrates high-quality, positive classroom management
• Inspires trust and models high standards of integrity
• Is a “team player” who inspires others by example

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with the Mathematics curriculum and cater to the diverse needs of students, including those with disabilities and developmental disabilities.
• Utilize effective classroom management techniques to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Provide individualized support and guidance to students to enhance their analytical skills and overall academic performance.
• Collaborate with colleagues to continuously improve teaching strategies and share best practices.
• Utilize communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and other stakeholders.
• Stay updated on educational trends and best practices in Mathematics teaching to enhance the quality of instruction.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and assessments to track individual growth and inform instructional decisions.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with educational standards and methodologies.
