Math Tutor

Job Summary

We’re looking for enthusiastic, and motivated Math Tutors to join our Sylvan Learning Centers in Apollo Beach and Riverview!

The ideal candidate enjoys working with students, has strong math skills, and can explain concepts in a clear, engaging, and encouraging way.

You'll work with students in grades K–12, guiding them through Sylvan's personalized learning programs using our interactive iPad-based curriculum. No lesson planning or curriculum development is required.

We welcome graduate students, current or retired teachers and professionals with strong math skills and a passion for helping students succeed.

As a Math Tutor at Sylvan Learning, your responsibilities will include:

· Work in 1 hour tutoring blocks. (Up to 5 blocks per evening Mon-Thru and Saturdays)

· Flexible schedule based on your availabilities and the center’s needs

· Observe and record student’s progress through Sylvan’s pre-planned curriculum

· Inspire, motivate and reward students

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of math, including Algebra and Geometry.
• Knowledge of Pre-Calculus, Trigonometry, and SAT/ACT is a plus.
• Previous teaching, tutoring, or SAT/ACT preparation experience preferred but not required.
• Personable, dependable, and passionate about helping students succeed.
• Ability to support students of different ages and learning levels.
