Job Summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Math Tutor to support 3rd-grade students in developing a strong foundation in mathematics. Duties

• Design and implement age-appropriate math lessons tailored to 3rd-grade curriculum standards, incorporating curriculum development best practices.
• Use online instruction tools and learning technology to deliver interactive lessons that keep students motivated and engaged.
• Assess students’ understanding through formative assessments and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
• Provide clear explanations of mathematical concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and basic geometry suitable for young learners.
• Support students in developing problem-solving skills and critical thinking through hands-on activities and real-world applications.
• Maintain a positive classroom environment by managing behavior effectively and encouraging student participation.
• Track student progress regularly, communicate with parents or guardians about achievements and areas for improvement, and prepare progress reports.

Qualifications

• Prior experience working with children, especially in early childhood education or preschool settings.
• Strong knowledge of math topics relevant to 3rd grade, including algebraic thinking, basic geometry, data interpretation, and introductory statistics.
• Experience with tutoring or teaching math at the elementary level, with a focus on engaging young learners through creative lesson planning.
• Familiarity with teaching chemistry or science tutoring is a plus but not required; however, a general understanding of science concepts can enhance instructional versatility.
• Proficiency in computer skills and familiarity with online instruction platforms or learning management systems (LMS).
• Excellent communication skills to effectively explain concepts to students with diverse learning needs.
• Ability to manage classroom behavior positively while fostering an inclusive environment for all students.
• Knowledge of special education strategies or experience working with students requiring additional support is advantageous.
