What they need
Tugo Tutors is hiring student tutors to lead small online group maths sessions for Years 9-11.
Groups are 6 to 8 students from one of our partner schools. Sessions are 45 minutes and pay £40 each. You'll teach live from home using our platform, supported by the Tugo Teaching Assistant. Most tutors get around 3 hours a week.
What makes this different
You'll be given a curriculum plan covering the term, with topics and sequencing already set. Your prep is planning how to teach the lesson, not working out what to teach or building resources from scratch.
Our AI assistant handles the busywork. It tracks where each student is struggling and marks their work as they go, so you can see in real time who needs you. You teach, motivate and unstick.
No homework marking. No report writing. No behaviour paperwork.
Groups stay with the same tutor, so you build proper relationships and see students progress across a term rather than dropping in and out.
You'll need
- An A or A* at A-level maths.
- Previous experience tutoring maths.
- An enhanced DBS certificate
- Two references.
- Reliable broadband, a quiet space, a suitable webcam and a headset. A graphics tablet or stylus helps for working through problems.
- Availability during term time from 3:30 to 4:30pm on weekdays, and/or 2:30 to 3:30pm on Tuesdays.
Helpful, not essential
- Experience teaching online.
Details
Self-employed, paid per session, invoiced monthly. Term time only. Start date September 2026.
When you apply, tell us
How many hours a week you'd like to teach, and which slots you can cover.
Whether you'd be interested in paid work beyond teaching: building resources or other admin. We're growing this side of the business and would rather develop people already teaching with us.
Right to work
This role is UK-based. You must have the existing right to work in the UK and be resident here, as sessions run to UK term dates and afternoon hours, and enhanced DBS clearance is required. We can't sponsor visas.
