Project Overview

We are seeking an experienced Matomo Analytics expert to support the setup and long-term configuration of our newly launched Matomo instance. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in analytics architecture, privacy-compliant tagging, and premium plugin integration. You’ll work collaboratively with our internal team and external agency partners to build a robust tracking infrastructure tailored to UTM attribution, SEO, paid media, and privacy-sensitive data handling.

Scope of Work

• Initial Setup

• Configure core Matomo analytics features

• Set up Matomo Tag Manager for tracking pixels and tags

• Integrate and configure the Matomo Premium Bundle, including:

• SEO Web Vitals

• Search Engine Keywords Performance

• Google Search Console integration

• Conversion Attribution Modeling

• Agency Analytics Integration

• Meta Ads Tracking Integration

• UTM and Ads Platform Integration

• Establish UTM parameter templates and tagging best practices for:

• Google Ads

• Meta (Facebook/Instagram) Ads

• Ensure GCLID integration for Google Ads optimization

• Privacy Controls and Compliance

• Implement data filtering and scrubbing techniques to prevent PHI (Protected Health Information) from being passed to third-party platforms

• Remove or anonymize IP addresses, ZIP codes, and other sensitive identifiers

• Maintain campaign optimization capabilities while respecting data privacy

• Ongoing Collaboration and Maintenance

• Provide knowledge transfer to our in-house team

• Collaborate with our external agency

• Deliver clear documentation and project milestones

• Offer ongoing support as needed

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Proven expertise in Matomo Analytics (including Tag Manager and Premium Plugins)
• Strong understanding of digital privacy regulations (HIPAA, GDPR preferred)
• Deep knowledge of Google Ads and Meta Ads tracking systems
• Proficiency in UTM tracking setup and campaign attribution
• Experience working with agency analytics platforms
• Ability to configure Matomo for both technical and strategic marketing goals
• Excellent communication skills (English, both verbal and written)
• Experience using Zoom and collaborative tools
