The Role

OnlineBedStore.co.uk is looking for an experienced Mattress Tape Edger to join our mattress manufacturing team.

This is an experienced position and applicants must already be competent in mattress tape edging.

We are looking for someone who can confidently operate an industrial mattress tape edge machine and produce a consistently high-quality finish without requiring basic tape edging training.

Pay will range from £16.00 to £20.00 per hour, depending on the candidate’s experience, skill level, speed and quality of workmanship.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate an industrial mattress tape edge sewing machine confidently and safely.
• Tape edge a variety of mattress types and sizes to a high standard.
• Produce clean, straight and consistent tape edging with well-finished corners.
• Maintain good production speed without compromising quality.
• Identify and correct finishing issues during production.
• Handle and manoeuvre mattresses safely throughout the edging process.
• Carry out basic machine checks and identify problems with the tape edge machine.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe working area.
• Work effectively with the wider mattress production team.
• Consistently meet our production and quality standards.

Experience Required

Previous mattress tape edging experience is essential.

Applicants should:

• Be experienced in operating a mattress tape edge machine.
• Be capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
• Have experience producing mattresses in a commercial manufacturing environment.
• Have excellent attention to detail and take pride in the quality of their finish.
• Be able to maintain both speed and accuracy in a busy production environment.
• Be comfortable handling and manoeuvring mattresses.
• Be reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a team.

Applicants with extensive tape edging experience and the ability to work quickly while maintaining an excellent standard of finish will be considered towards the top end of the £16–£20 per hour pay range.

Hours & Pay

This is a full-time position of 35–40 fixed hours per week.

Hourly rate: £16.00–£20.00 per hour

The exact rate offered will depend on proven mattress tape edging experience, skill level, speed and quality of workmanship.

At 40 hours per week, this is equivalent to approximately £33,280–£41,600 per year before overtime, depending on the agreed hourly rate.
