MC Driver

Ken Knight Transport is a family owned and operated business with 25 years' experience in the transport industry. We transport palletised freight across Southeast Queensland in taughtliners to support our customers.

Due to increased workload and future planning, we are looking for an MC licensed driver to join our team.

The Role:

This position fulfills a critical function in our business between Brisbane, Toowoomba and Pittsworth, running the corridor between Brisbane and Toowoomba on a daily basis. The key function of this role is to run freight down into our Rocklea depot for further distribution, with return freight reloaded to go back from Brisbane to Pittsworth and Toowoomba for delivery. Fork on and off at both ends.

Where needs require, it may also include runs to some of our other delivery legs including the Sunshine Coast and the Somerset Region which include multi drop customer service with fork off at each site.

A safety mindset and customer service focus is essential. We do what we do well and we do it safely. As the face of our business with direct and daily interactions with our suppliers and customers, your professionalism and communication skills will be highlighted as a key focus in this role. The success of this impacts our service and reputation and can contribute to further business growth when done well.

• Monday to Friday roster ex Rocklea
• Overnight between Brisbane and Toowoomba when required operationally or for unforeseen circumstances
• Current and valid MC License is required (traffic history print out will be needed upon application)
• Forklift license is essential
• High standard of personal presentation and communication is required
• The capacity to be flexibile to meet the needs of the business in the transport industry, understanding the often delays and changes in requirements often happen with short notice that are beyond our control

We work as a team to get the job done, and we do what we do well. We keep our drivers in their own trucks and trailers unless maintence is required. We keep our fleet clean and well maintained and expect that our drivers do the same.
