MC Driver – Waste Transport & Container Operations

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and reliable MC Driver to join our growing waste management and transport team.

The successful applicant will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of containers and waste products, primarily between Fremantle and Bibra Lake, with regular metropolitan work and occasional country/regional work.

This is a hands-on transport role within the waste industry and would suit a driver who takes pride in their work, operates equipment safely and understands the importance of providing reliable service to customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Transport containers between Fremantle, Bibra Lake and other metropolitan locations.
• Operate side-loader container trailers to safely load, transport and unload containers.
• Undertake regional and country transport work as required.
• Safely secure and transport waste and other loads in accordance with relevant requirements.
• Complete transport, waste and delivery documentation accurately.
• Conduct daily vehicle pre-start inspections and report any mechanical or safety issues.
• Operate vehicles and equipment in accordance with company procedures and legislation.
• Maintain a high standard of vehicle cleanliness and presentation.
• Communicate professionally with customers, site personnel and the operations team.
• Follow all workplace health and safety, environmental and waste management requirements.
• Assist with general yard and operational duties when required.

Essential Requirements

• Current MC Driver's Licence.
• Current Dangerous Goods (DG) Licence.
• Current MSIC (Maritime Security Identification Card).
• Previous experience in heavy vehicle transport.
• Good understanding of heavy vehicle safety, fatigue management and load restraint requirements.
• Reliable and punctual work ethic.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience operating side-loader container trailers – highly preferred.
• Previous experience transporting containers.
• Experience within the waste management industry.
• Experience transporting controlled or regulated waste.
• Experience with hook-lift, side-loader or other container handling equipment.
• Previous country or long-distance driving experience.
• Knowledge of Western Australian waste transport and disposal requirements.

The Successful Applicant

The successful applicant will be a safety-focused, reliable and professional MC driver who is comfortable working within the waste industry and dealing with customers and site personnel.

Previous experience operating a side-loader container trailer will be highly regarded and is preferred. The successful applicant must have a strong commitment to safe driving practices, vehicle care and compliance, and be willing to assist with the broader operations of the business when required.

Pay: $40.00 – $50.00 per hour
