MC Float / Freight Driver | Permanent | Perth Based | Goldfields Travel

About the role

This position is responsible for the safe and efficient transport of freight and heavy mobile plant between Axis projects throughout the Goldfields and surrounding regions. Working within a professional transport operation, you will be responsible for loading, unloading and transporting a variety of mining and civil equipment while maintaining the highest standards of safety, compliance and equipment care.

Key responsibilities

• Transport freight and mobile plant across WA using various trailer and dolly configurations
• Safely load and unload tracked and wheeled equipment, including excavators, wheel loaders, mobile crushers, mobile screens, and ancillary mining equipment
• Couple and uncouple trailers and dollies safely and efficiently
• Comply with Main Roads WA Heavy Vehicle Accreditation requirements
• Adhere to fatigue management, permit conditions, load restraint and Chain of Responsibility requirements
• Complete daily pre-start inspections and vehicle checks
• Perform basic maintenance and upkeep of assigned vehicles and equipment
• Maintain a high standard of housekeeping and equipment presentation
• Represent Axis professionally while working across client sites and public roads

About you

• Unrestricted MC Driver's Licence
• Triple Road Train experience
• Float transport experience
• Experience operating 18-speed Road Ranger transmissions
• WA Fatigue Management accreditation
• Load Restraint accreditation
• Strong commitment to safety and compliance
• Excellent time management and organisational skills
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of outcomes
• Ability to pass a pre-employment Commercial Driver Medical
• National Police Clearance, or ability to obtain one

Highly Regarded

• Experience operating Kenworth prime movers
• Mobile plant operating experience
• Previous mining industry experience
• Goldfields transport and logistics experience
