MC Interstate/Local Driver

About the role

LDJ Logistics is seeking experienced and professional MC/B-double drivers to join our expanding transport operation. Opportunities are available for solo interstate MC/B-double drivers and local Adelaide MC drivers. Interstate work includes general freight movements between Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth and Darwin.

Key responsibilities

• Safely operating MC/B-double or road train combinations
• Transporting general freight on interstate or local routes
• Loading and unloading freight when required, including operating pallet jacks
• Inspecting and securing loads before departure and throughout each journey
• Completing pre-start inspections and reporting vehicle defects
• Maintaining work diaries, timesheets, delivery records and safety documentation
• Checking loading documents and the condition of freight
• Obtaining signed proof of delivery
• Following all road laws, site procedures and customer requirements
• Complying with fatigue-management, Chain of Responsibility and WHS obligations

About you

• A current unrestricted MC driver's licence
• At least two years of MC driving experience
• Previous B-double or road train experience
• Long-distance interstate driving experience for linehaul positions
• A safe and professional driving history
• A strong understanding of fatigue management, Chain of Responsibility and WHS requirements
• The legal right to work in Australia
• Good communication and documentation skills
• The ability to work independently and meet delivery schedules
• Willing to provide a current driving-history report and undertake a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screening
