MDM & Data Governance Architect – OpenMetadata

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced MDM & Data Governance Architect with strong expertise in Master Data Management, Data Governance, Metadata Management, and Data Architecture.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with OpenMetadata and a strong Pharma background. The candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing enterprise data governance and MDM solutions and working closely with business, data, and technology stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement enterprise MDM and Data Governance strategies.
• Define data governance frameworks, standards, policies, and processes.
• Lead implementation and adoption of OpenMetadata across enterprise data environments.
• Configure and manage metadata, data catalog, lineage, ownership, and data discovery.
• Define data domains, critical data elements, business terms, and data ownership.
• Establish data quality rules, monitoring processes, and remediation workflows.
• Develop MDM strategies for customer, HCP, product, organization, and other master data.
• Define data models, standards, and governance processes aligned with business requirements.
• Work with data engineering teams to integrate metadata and governance into data platforms and pipelines.
• Perform current-state (As-Is) assessment and define future-state (To-Be) data governance architecture.
• Support data lineage, classification, profiling, and impact analysis.
• Collaborate with Data Stewards, Product Owners, Business Analysts, Data Engineers, and Enterprise Architects.
• Ensure governance solutions support regulatory, compliance, security, and privacy requirements.
• Lead stakeholder workshops and communicate data governance strategies and recommendations.
• Develop architecture documentation, governance standards, and implementation roadmaps.

RequirementsMandatory Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in Data Architecture, MDM, Data Governance, or related areas.
• OpenMetadata experience – Mandatory.
• Pharma domain experience – Mandatory.
• Strong hands-on experience with Master Data Management (MDM).
• Strong knowledge of Data Governance and Metadata Management.
• Experience with Data Catalog and Data Lineage.
• Experience with Data Quality, profiling, classification, and stewardship.
• Strong understanding of enterprise data architecture and data management principles.
• Experience defining data governance policies, standards, and operating models.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Pharma commercial, HCP, customer, product, or reference data.
• Experience with Ataccama, Collibra, Informatica, or similar data governance/MDM platforms.
• Experience with Snowflake, AWS, Azure, or other cloud data platforms.
• Experience with data modernization and transformation initiatives.
• Knowledge of data privacy, security, and regulatory requirements within the Life Sciences industry.
• Experience implementing enterprise-wide data governance programs.

Important

OpenMetadata and Pharma experience are mandatory.

Candidates with only general Data Engineering experience without MDM, Data Governance, OpenMetadata, and Pharma experience will not be considered.

Pay: $70.00 - $73.00 per hour
