Job Summary

FitEx Meals is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented, and health-focused Meal Prep Associate to support daily meal preparation and food production operations. This role is responsible for preparing ingredients, assembling meals according to recipes and portion standards, packaging finished meals, maintaining food quality and freshness, and keeping the kitchen clean and organized. The ideal candidate is hardworking, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced food production environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients by washing, cutting, chopping, slicing, weighing, and portioning food items
• Follow approved recipes, preparation instructions, and portion-control standards
• Assemble healthy meals accurately according to customer orders and meal plans
• Measure ingredients and portions using scales and other kitchen equipment
• Cook and prepare food according to established quality and safety procedures
• Package prepared meals using appropriate containers and packaging materials
• Label meals accurately with product information, dates, ingredients, and storage instructions
• Check meals for accuracy, presentation, portion size, and overall quality
• Monitor food freshness, expiration dates, temperatures, and storage conditions
• Follow proper food rotation and first-in, first-out (FIFO) procedures
• Maintain clean and sanitary food preparation areas, equipment, utensils, and storage areas
• Follow food safety, sanitation, hygiene, and workplace safety procedures
• Assist with receiving, organizing, storing, and rotating food deliveries
• Maintain adequate supplies of ingredients, packaging materials, and kitchen supplies
• Report inventory shortages, damaged products, equipment problems, or food quality concerns to management
• Assist with cleaning, sanitizing, opening, and closing kitchen procedures
• Work efficiently with kitchen and production team members to meet daily meal production goals
• Help maintain accurate production, inventory, and meal preparation records
• Perform additional meal preparation, food production, cleaning, and kitchen duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous experience in meal preparation, food service, kitchen operations, catering, or food production preferred but not required
• Interest in healthy food, meal preparation, nutrition, or wellness
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to follow recipes, portion specifications, and preparation instructions
• Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced food production environment
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
• Ability to lift and move food supplies and boxes as required
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
• Flexible availability, including mornings, weekends, and holidays as operational needs require

Preferred Skills

• Previous meal-prep, catering, restaurant, or commercial kitchen experience
• Experience with food weighing, portioning, packaging, and labeling
• Knowledge of healthy meal preparation and basic nutrition concepts
• Experience following standardized recipes and production schedules
• Food safety certification where required
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to maintain consistent food quality and portion control

Work Environment

• Fast-paced commercial kitchen and meal production environment
