Measure Technician / Estimator
NorWest Kitchen & Remodel | Lynnwood, WA
NorWest Kitchen & Remodel is seeking a Measure Technician / Estimator who brings strong residential construction knowledge, precise estimating skills, and a natural drive to find better ways to work.
We’re investing in technology, automation, and practical AI tools to modernize how we measure, estimate, and coordinate projects. In this role, you’ll take ownership of accurate estimates while helping us improve the systems and processes behind them.
This field-based position requires extensive driving throughout greater Seattle and surrounding Western Washington communities.
What You’ll Do:
- Measure and assess: Take precise measurements for kitchen and remodeling projects, document existing conditions, and identify installation challenges before they cause costly changes or delays.
- Build accurate estimates: Interpret drawings, cabinet layouts, and specifications to develop complete scopes and competitive labor and material estimates, from initial measurement through final bid submission.
- Improve how we work: Help evaluate and implement digital measurement tools, estimating software, automation, and AI applications. Develop templates, streamline repetitive tasks, and bring forward ideas that improve accuracy and turnaround times.
- Coordinate project details: Work with homeowners, designers, project managers, and subcontractors to clarify scope, resolve questions, and ensure clear handoffs to operations and installation teams.
- Stay organized: Manage multiple projects, site visits, and deadlines while maintaining accurate records in JobTread and other company systems.
What You’ll Bring:
- Experience in residential construction, remodeling, cabinet installation, field measuring, or construction estimating.
- Strong knowledge of residential construction methods, materials, and installation requirements.
- Ability to accurately measure spaces and interpret construction drawings and technical specifications.
- Strong computer skills and comfort using estimating software, construction management platforms, and spreadsheets.
- Curiosity about technology and a willingness to learn, test new tools, and improve established workflows.
- Sound judgment, attention to detail, professional communication, and ownership of your work.
- Ability to independently manage competing priorities and appointments across a large service area.
- A valid driver’s license, reliable insured personal vehicle, and willingness to drive extensively.
Preferred experience: Kitchen cabinet design and installation; 2020 Design, JobTread, or Excel; digital measurement tools; construction pricing and subcontractor coordination; and using AI, automation, or templates to improve workflows.
