Meat Counter Associate

Merindorf Meats is looking for a customer-oriented Meat Counter Associate to join our team. In this role, you will be the face of our meat department, helping customers select high-quality cuts of meat, poultry, and seafood. You will be responsible for weighing, packaging, and pricing items while maintaining a clean, safe, and visually appealing, stocked display case.

Core Responsibilities

• Customer Care: Greet customers warmly, take accurate orders, and provide helpful recommendations on meat selection, preparation, and cooking techniques.
• Product Handling: Wrap, weigh, label, and price fresh meat, poultry, and seafood products accurately.
• Merchandising: Stock, organize, and rotate products in display cases using the First-In, First-Out (FIFO) method to ensure freshness and visual appeal.
• Food Safety & Sanitation: Clean, sanitize, and maintain all work surfaces, display cases, scales, and cutting tools according to company policy and local health department regulations.
• Inventory Control: Monitor stock levels, report low inventory to management, and assist in receiving and unpacking meat deliveries.

Skills and Qualifications

• Experience: Previous retail, grocery, or food service experience is preferred but not required. We will train the right candidate.
• Food Safety Knowledge: Understanding of safe food handling practices. Possession of or willingness to obtain ServSafe Certification is preferred.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, and reach for an entire shift, and comfortably lift and move boxes weighing up to50 pounds.
• Basic Math & Tech: Ability to use digital scales, label printers, and perform simple math for pricing and weight calculations.
• Availability: Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.

Pay: $13.73 - $15.73 per hour
