Responsibilities

• Assist customers by providing knowledgeable guidance on meat cuts, preparation tips, and product selection to enhance their shopping experience
• Prepare meat products through slicing, trimming, and portioning using proper knife skills and meat cutting techniques
• Package meats efficiently and attractively to maintain freshness and meet quality standards
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the meat department, including sanitizing work surfaces, equipment, and storage areas in compliance with food safety regulations
• Support food production processes by following recipes, portion controls, and food handling procedures to ensure consistent quality
• Restock displays regularly to ensure product availability and visual appeal for customers
• Adhere strictly to food safety standards and proper handling procedures to prevent contamination or spoilage

Experience

• Previous experience in food production, food preparation, or kitchen environments is highly desirable
• Experience with packaging meats for retail sale while maintaining freshness and presentation standards
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and assist shoppers confidently
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in a retail or culinary setting
• Prior work in a restaurant or culinary environment is a plus but not required; enthusiasm for learning is essential
