What they need

Brian Quinn’s Meats is looking for a reliable and hardworking Meat Packager / Meat Processing Assistant to join our team part time, two days per week – Wednesdays and Sundays.

At Brian Quinn’s Meats, we are passionate about producing high-quality, locally sourced meat. We cut from whole carcasses, work closely with local farmers and take pride in properly preparing and packaging our products for our customers.

About the Position

This is a hands-on position in our meat processing and packaging area. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Vacuum packaging fresh meat
  • Weighing products and using a scale printer to accurately label each package
  • Keeping different products and ground beef blends properly identified and organized
  • Preparing packaged products for storage and orders
  • Maintaining a clean, organized and sanitary work area
  • Following food safety and sanitation procedures
  • Assisting with other meat processing and production tasks as needed

There is also an opportunity to learn additional meat processing skills, including operating the meat grinder, grinding and packaging meat, making patties and potentially taking on additional production responsibilities as you gain experience.

What We’re Looking For

Previous meat processing experience is an asset, but we are willing to train the right person. More importantly, we are looking for someone who:

  • Is dependable and consistently shows up ready to work
  • Is organized and pays close attention to detail
  • Can work quickly while maintaining accuracy
  • Works well as part of a team
  • Is comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment
  • Is willing and eager to learn new skills
  • Takes pride in keeping their workspace clean and organized
  • Can follow instructions and food safety procedures carefully

Experience in food processing, packaging, manufacturing or sanitation is considered an asset but is not required.

Physical Requirements

This is an active, hands-on position. Applicants must be comfortable:

  • Standing and working on their feet for extended periods
  • Working in a cool/refrigerated environment
  • Performing repetitive packaging and production tasks
  • Safely lifting and handling boxes and products weighing up to approximately 50 lbs
  • Keeping pace during busy production days

Schedule

This position is two days per week – every Wednesday and Sunday. Applicants must be consistently available to work both days, other than approved vacation or scheduled time off.

If you are dependable, hardworking, detail-oriented and interested in learning more about meat processing, we would love to hear from you.
