Meat Processing Machine Operator

We are seeking an experienced Meat Processing Machine Operator to join a food manufacturing facility specializing in meat and animal product processing.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience operating commercial meat band saws and grinders, preferably Hobart equipment. The position involves cutting bones, grinding animal fats, preparing raw materials, and maintaining high standards of food safety, cleanliness, and production efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and safely operate commercial meat band saws and grinders.
• Cut bones and process animal fats according to production specifications.
• Handle frozen materials when permitted by equipment procedures.
• Follow production instructions for cutting sizes, grinding specifications, and quantities.
• Weigh, label, and prepare raw materials for production.
• Inspect raw materials to identify quality concerns or contamination.
• Maintain proper temperature controls and product traceability.
• Inspect machinery and safety guards before operation.
• Clean, sanitize, and maintain processing equipment, tools, and work areas.
• Disassemble and reassemble equipment for cleaning when trained and authorized.
• Complete production and sanitation records accurately.
• Report equipment malfunctions and maintenance requirements.
• Follow workplace health and safety regulations and food handling procedures.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Previous experience operating commercial meat band saws and grinders is mandatory.
• Experience with Hobart band saws and grinders is strongly preferred.
• Experience cutting bones and processing meat, animal fats, or similar raw materials.
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and cross-contamination prevention.
• Ability to follow production instructions and accurately measure and weigh materials.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive physical tasks.
• Comfortable working in cold, wet, or refrigerated processing environments.
• Ability to safely handle heavy materials using appropriate equipment or assistance.
• Reliable, punctual, and committed to workplace safety.
• Food Safety, HACCP, or WHMIS certification is an asset.
