What they need
Meat Processing Production Team Member
Full-time | In person | Laramie, Wyoming | Training provided
Most new employees start at $17.00/hour.
Build your skills and work toward approximately $20.00/hour by the end of your first year.
Know the work before you start
Meat processing is hands-on, physical work. You will spend much of your shift on your feet in a cool production environment, work around raw meat, blood, knives and equipment, and perform some tasks repeatedly. The job includes repeatedly lifting and moving trays and totes weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
We want you to understand the work before you accept the job. In return, we offer paid job training, a clear opportunity to build useful skills, regular performance reviews and little weekend work. No previous meat-processing experience is required.
What you will do
Work alongside our butchers to assist with cutting steaks and roasts, deboning meat and grinding meat products after the required training and authorization. Move trays, totes and lugs to the correct locations, keep your work area orderly and sanitary, and help cover other production responsibilities as assigned and trained.
Safety, food safety and getting the product right come before speed. You will be expected to follow instructions, ask when you are unsure, accept respectful coaching and help your coworkers.
Pay and progression
Most new production employees begin as a Production Trainee at $17.00 per hour. During your first year, reviews occur approximately every 90 days, giving you clear opportunities to earn a new title and a higher hourly rate as you develop your skills.

Advancement depends on meeting written requirements for job skills, safe work, consistent quality, teamwork and dependable communication - not simply time on the job. We provide training and explain what is needed to reach the next level. The timeline is a goal; title changes and pay increases are not automatic or guaranteed. Your starting rate and review process are explained before you accept.
A good fit works both waysSchedule
Our scheduled workday begins at 6:45 a.m. End times depend on production and may extend to 5:00 p.m. and occasionally beyond. The workday includes a 30-minute meal period. Overtime is part of this position and is paid as required by law. Little weekend work.
What we are looking for
You do not need a meat-industry resume. You do need a willingness to learn, follow safety and sanitation procedures, work with a team, and communicate promptly if you will be late or absent. Reliable attendance matters; so does treating people respectfully.
Experience in agriculture, construction, manufacturing, warehouses, commercial kitchens or other hands-on work may be useful, but it is not required. First-time workers and career changers are welcome. Applicants must be 18 or older for this production position, which includes duties restricted for minors.
During production, phones must be put away except for authorized work use, an approved accommodation or an emergency handled through the designated contact. Breaks and emergency-contact procedures are explained during onboarding.
Benefits
Benefits for eligible employees include paid vacation, paid sick leave, bereavement leave, a retirement plan, a health-insurance bonus, employee meat discounts and opportunities for advancement. Eligibility, waiting periods and benefit details are provided before acceptance and are governed by the applicable written plans and policies.
