Mechanic and CDL Driver

Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Equipment Mechanic and Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing a variety of heavy and light equipment used in construction and fleet operations coupled with developing and implementing a fleet maintenance program. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and transporting equipment safely and efficiently while adhering to all traffic regulations and company policies and maintaining a clean, organized shop and yard. This role requires a strong attention to detail, excellent driving skills, and the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on equipment
• Perform routine maintenance.
• Repair or replace defective parts using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs.
• Ensure equipment is in safe working condition and meets company and OSHA standards.
• Collaborate with operations personnel to schedule repairs.
• Respond to emergency breakdowns, including occasional fieldwork
• Keep work area clean and organized.
• Operate and drive heavy trucks to transport equipment to various locations.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
• Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, fuel, vehicle maintenance, and cargo information.
• Communicate effectively with team members regarding delivery status and any issues encountered on the road.
• Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean driving record.

Requirements

• Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a three-year clean driving history.
• Proven experience as an equipment mechanic and truck driver.
• Strong understanding of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Familiarity with GPS devices and navigation systems.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently.
• Must pass background checks and drug screenings as required by company policy.
• Physical stamina to lift heavy loads and perform manual tasks as needed.
• Must provide basic tools.
• Company vehicles will be provided for use during working hours.
• Ability and willingness to periodically work out of town with the crews.
• Ability and willingness to periodically work nights and weekends.

Pay: $26.00 - $35.00 per hour
