MECHANIC

Description The Dougherty County Police Department has vacancies for Master Patrol Officer. This position is an intermediate step between Patrol Officer and Sergeant, and is anon-supervisory position.

Essential Tasks

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: patrolling designated areas, enforcing traffic laws; issuing traffic stops, directing and controlling traffic flow when necessary; investigating criminal/civil complaints and making arrests when necessary.

Responsible for completing incident/accident reports, completing daily activity sheets, assisting citizens with animal control complaints, operating emergency vehicle, using hand-held/vehicle radio and communication equipment, using radar equipment, escorting funeral processions and serving as a Field Training Officer.

Minimum Qualification

Employed one (1) one year with the Dougherty County Police Department.

Four (4) years total of law enforcement experience as a POST Certified Peace Officer. No disciplinary action resulting in suspension within the past 12 months.

Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia Driver's License.
