What they need
Newport National Golf Club deemed the “Number One Public Access Course in New England” by New England Golf Monthly. Legendary golf architect, Arthur Hills, designed the challenging 7,244-yard Orchard Course. The 18-hole links-style course sports sloping fairways, marshes, and strategically placed bunkers. The dramatic setting boasts views of the Atlantic Ocean and Sakonnet Passage while challenging golfers with steady winds coming off Narragansett Bay. Golfweek Magazine placed the course in the “Top Twenty New Courses in America”. Our newly constructed 20,000 square foot Club House, and additional 9-hole golf course, and practice facility is now open.
We are currently seeking an experienced Mechanic to oversee the maintenance and repair of our golf course equipment and vehicle fleet. This position is responsible for implementing a comprehensive preventive maintenance program, diagnosing and repairing equipment issues, and ensuring our equipment remains safe, reliable, and ready for daily operations.
The Mechanic will maintain accurate service and repair records, track parts and labor associated with each piece of equipment, and order necessary parts, supplies, and materials. The position works closely with the Golf Course Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent to communicate equipment needs, repair priorities, and any issues that may impact course operations.

- Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts, and preventative maintenance.
- Keep the shop, tools, equipment, and work areas clean and organized.
- Order and maintain an appropriate inventory of parts, supplies, and tools.
- Work closely with the Golf Course Superintendent and maintenance staff to prioritize repairs and equipment needs.
- Follow all manufacturer recommendations and workplace safety procedures.
- Assist with other golf course maintenance duties when needed.

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Golf course or turf equipment experience is preferred but not required.
