Mechanic

Position: School Bus Mechanic

Wage is negotiable based on experience!

Responsibilities:

• Complete vehicle repair/maintenance work assigned and maintains necessary work related records.
• Work with Fleet Manager to contribute to shop inventory maintenance.
• Open and/or close the shop on a regular basis.
• Perform daily pre-trip inspection on vehicles.
• Perform annual checklist on vehicles to prepare for DOT inspection.
• Complies with all laws and regulations that apply to the department.
• Attends appropriate training sessions as part of programs of continuing education.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Education:

• Post high school training at the college or vocational level with emphasis on mechanics.
• Experience may be substituted for education

Experience:

• 3+ years diesel mechanical experience preferred.
• Strong verbal and organizational skills necessary.
• Automotive electrical experience desirable.
• Good people skills necessary.
• Commercial driver's license with school bus endorsement desirable, but paid training is available!

Other:

• Must be in good physical condition.
• Pre-employment random drug testing required.
• Must attend all training sessions required by law.
• Must comply with all safety regulations and policies of the company.
• DOT vehicle inspection certificate.
• Will be required to get a Class B license with accurate endorsements (In House Paid Training Available) - If not already licensed

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40.0 per week
