MECHANIC

About the role

Responsible for the inspection, servicing, troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of industrial and construction machinery. The position will also support preventive maintenance, equipment preparation, breakdown repairs, on-site technical support and reconditioning of machinery for rental and sales.

Key responsibilities

• Perform inspection, servicing, maintenance and repair of industrial and construction machinery and equipment
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and engine-related problems
• Conduct preventive maintenance and routine servicing according to the maintenance schedule
• Troubleshoot machinery breakdowns and carry out necessary repairs efficiently
• Perform equipment inspection before and after rental or delivery to ensure machines are in safe and proper working condition
• Dismantle, repair, replace and reassemble defective components, parts and systems
• Test machinery after repair to ensure proper functionality and performance
• Attend to on-site breakdowns and provide technical support when required
• Maintain proper records of servicing, repairs, spare parts and maintenance activities
• Assist in the reconditioning and preparation of used machinery for sale or rental

About you

• Certificate, Diploma or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Heavy Machinery, Plant Maintenance or a related field
• Basic knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems
• Able to perform troubleshooting, repair and preventive maintenance
• Able to use basic workshop tools and diagnostic equipment
• Physically fit and comfortable working in a workshop and outdoor/site environment
• Willing to travel to customer sites or project locations when required
• Able to work independently as well as in a team
• Good problem-solving skills, responsible and safety-conscious
• Possess a valid driving licence would be an advantage
• Experience in heavy machinery, construction equipment, industrial machinery or equipment maintenance is an added advantage
