About the role

Bridgestone Select Indooroopilly is seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanic to join our dynamic team. This is a full-time position based in Indooroopilly, QLD 4068. As a Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality vehicle maintenance and repair services to our valued customers. Your expertise will directly impact customer satisfaction and contribute to the reputation of our service centre as a trusted provider of automotive solutions.

What you'll be doing

• Performing comprehensive vehicle inspections to diagnose mechanical, electrical and suspension issues
• Conducting routine maintenance services including oil changes, filter replacements, fluid top-ups and tyre rotations
• Executing repair work on engines, transmissions, braking systems, cooling systems and electrical components
• Utilising diagnostic equipment and specialist tools to identify and resolve vehicle problems efficiently
• Documenting all work completed, including parts used and labour hours for accurate customer billing
• Communicating with customers to explain repairs required, provide cost estimates and update them on service progress
• Maintaining a clean and safe workshop environment in compliance with health and safety regulations
• Following manufacturer specifications and industry best practices to ensure quality workmanship
• Collaborating with other technicians and team members to meet service schedules and customer deadlines

What we're looking for

• Trade qualification or formal apprenticeship in automotive mechanics
• Current driver's licence and clean driving record
• Proven experience as a mechanic.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle systems including engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical and suspension
• Proficiency in using mechanical tools, diagnostic equipment and workshop management systems
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship
• Reliable, punctual and professional approach to work
• Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
• Customer service orientation and ability to explain technical information in an accessible manner
