Mechanic Helper

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanic Helper to join our automotive service team at GJH SERCONS, INC. in Maguyam, Silang, Cavite. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in supporting our experienced mechanics and ensuring the smooth operation of our workshop. As a Mechanic Helper, you will assist in the diagnosis, maintenance, and repair of vehicles, contributing directly to the quality of service we provide to our customers. This hands-on role is perfect for individuals looking to develop their skills in the automotive trades while working in a professional and collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist experienced mechanics in diagnosing vehicle problems and performing repairs on various vehicle types and systems
• Support mechanics in routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, filter replacements, tyre rotations, and fluid top-ups
• Clean and prepare vehicles and work areas in accordance with workshop standards and safety requirements
• Organise and maintain tools and equipment in the workshop, ensuring they are properly stored and readily accessible
• Fetch and deliver parts and materials to mechanics as required throughout the working day
• Perform basic mechanical tasks under the supervision of senior mechanics, such as removing and reinstalling components
• Support the workshop team in ensuring vehicles are serviced efficiently and to the highest standard
• Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used as directed by management
• Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations within the workshop at all times

What we're looking for

• A strong interest in automotive mechanics and a willingness to learn and develop technical skills
• Physical fitness and the ability to perform manual tasks, including lifting and carrying heavy items safely
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Basic problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to work
• Reliability and punctuality, with a professional attitude towards health and safety practices
• A valid driver's licence would be advantageous
• Previous experience as a Mechanic Helper or in a similar automotive support role is preferred but not essential for motivated candidates
• Willingness to undertake on-the-job training and pursue relevant certifications in automotive trades
