Mechanical and CAD Engineer / Technician

Position Overview

Prepare CAD drawings for equipment layouts, piping systems, and supporting structures for water treatment systems. The role also involves supervising installation, testing, and system start-up through to equipment handover.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in site surveys to prepare equipment layouts, piping layouts, and supporting structure drawings for water treatment systems.
• Prepare CAD drawings of equipment layouts, piping systems, and supporting structures for installation.
• Assist with installation and testing of water treatment systems before customer handover at the installation site (FAT/SAT), including leak checks and equipment operation.
• Use AutoCAD 2D/3D or equivalent software to prepare or revise installation, assembly, and as-built drawings; prepare handover documentation; and provide guidance to users.
• Work with the team to resolve site issues during design, installation, and system start-up testing before customer handover.

Qualifications

• Higher vocational diploma or bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 2–3 years of experience designing equipment layouts, piping systems, and supporting structures.
• Experience preparing CAD drawings for customer handover.
• Ability to use AutoCAD 2D/3D or equivalent software to prepare equipment layouts, piping drawings, and supporting structure drawings for water treatment systems.
• Ability to prepare reports using Excel, read basic technical manuals in English, and coordinate effectively with colleagues and customers.
• A valid car driving licence and the ability to drive to off-site work locations.
• Previous experience working with water treatment systems.
• Previous experience working with filtration systems such as UF / NF / RO.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical equipment such as pressure vessels, pumps, compressors, and fans.
