Mechanical & Electrical Manager

About the role

Manage and oversee all mechanical and electrical maintenance activities to ensure smooth and efficient factory operations. This role involves developing and implementing preventive and predictive maintenance programmes to minimize equipment breakdowns and production downtime, with responsibility for supervising maintenance and troubleshooting of glass manufacturing equipment, including glass melting furnaces, IS bottle-forming machines, annealing lehrs, conveyors, and related production systems.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and oversee all mechanical and electrical maintenance activities to ensure smooth and efficient factory operations
• Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programmes to minimize equipment breakdowns and production downtime
• Supervise maintenance and troubleshooting of glass manufacturing equipment, including glass melting furnaces, IS bottle-forming machines, annealing lehrs, conveyors, and related production systems
• Ensure the reliability and availability of electrical systems, motors, pumps, compressors, cooling systems, and other plant utilities
• Coordinate equipment installation, upgrading, modification, and commissioning projects
• Monitor maintenance costs, spare parts inventory, equipment performance, and energy consumption
• Lead and supervise maintenance technicians, contractors, and service providers
• Ensure compliance with workplace safety requirements, electrical safety standards, and applicable statutory regulations
• Collaborate with production and quality teams to improve equipment efficiency, product quality, and overall manufacturing productivity
• Prepare maintenance reports, analyse breakdown trends, and implement continuous improvement initiatives

About you

• Strong knowledge and experience in mechanical and electrical systems in a continuous manufacturing environment
• Experience in industrial equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis
• Knowledge of glass manufacturing processes and equipment, particularly glass melting furnaces, IS bottle-forming machines, annealing lehrs, and mould-related systems
• Familiarity with industrial electrical systems, PLCs, motors, VFDs, control panels, and automation systems
• Knowledge of plant utilities, including compressors, cooling water systems, pumps, industrial ventilation, and HVAC
• Strong experience in preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, and breakdown management
• Ability to manage maintenance budgets, spare parts, contractors, and engineering projects
• Good understanding of occupational safety, electrical safety, and risk assessment
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, communication, and team management skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; knowledge of CMMS and AutoCAD
• Chinese speaker for better communication and enhance the communication gap.
