Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) Coordinator

About the role

The M&E Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and supervising mechanical and electrical (M&E) works at project sites, ensuring installations comply with approved drawings, specifications, and project timelines. This role acts as the key liaison between the main contractor, M&E subcontractors, consultants, and clients to ensure smooth execution of all M&E-related activities.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise day-to-day M&E site works including electrical, ELV, HVAC/ACMV, fire-fighting, plumbing, and lift systems.
• Review and check construction drawings, shop drawings, and material submissions against approved specifications.
• Liaise with M&E subcontractors, consultants, and clients to resolve technical issues and coordinate work sequencing with other trades (civil, structural, architectural).
• Monitor site progress against the project schedule and escalate delays or discrepancies.
• Prepare and submit progress reports, site inspection records, and testing & commissioning documentation.
• Ensure all M&E works comply with relevant codes, safety standards, and quality requirements.
• Attend site meetings, coordination meetings, and support inspections/defect rectification.
• Assist the M&E Project Manager in tracking material deliveries, RFIs, and approvals.
• Maintain proper documentation for as-built drawings, O&M manuals, and warranty records.

About you

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 2–3 years of relevant working experience in M&E coordination within the building/construction industry.
• Familiarity with M&E systems: electrical, ACMV, fire protection, plumbing & sanitary, ELV systems.
• Ability to read and interpret M&E drawings and specifications.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word); familiarity with AutoCAD is an advantage.
• Independent, detail-oriented, and able to work under project deadlines.
