Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) Engineer - (Contract)

Location: Melaka (2years Contract)

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and supervise all Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, contract requirements and relevant engineering standards.
• Review M&E drawings, shop drawings, coordinated BIM drawings, method statements and technical submissions prior to construction.
• Coordinate with architects, Civil & Structural engineers, consultants, specialist contractors and subcontractors to resolve technical and interface issues.
• Monitor the progress of M&E works to ensure timely completion in accordance with the approved project programme.
• Supervise the installation, testing and commissioning of all M&E systems, including electrical, HVAC, plumbing, sanitary, fire protection, ELV and other building services.
• Ensure all M&E installations comply with approved specifications, statutory regulations and manufacturer recommendations.
• Identify technical issues and recommend practical engineering solutions to minimise project delays and improve construction efficiency.
• Prepare technical reports, inspection records, site instructions and engineering documentation as required.

Quality Management

• Ensure all M&E works comply with approved drawings, technical specifications, statutory regulations and contractual requirements.
• Coordinate inspections, testing, commissioning and system acceptance with consultants, clients and relevant authorities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Alternatively, candidates with a minimum of 5–8 years of relevant Mechanical & Electrical engineering experience may be considered in lieu of additional professional qualifications.
• Registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM). Registration with the Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM) and Professional Engineer (PE) status will be an added advantage.
• Minimum 5-8 years of experience in building construction, interior fit-out, refurbishment or M&E engineering projects.
• Experience in testing & commissioning, authority submissions, utility coordination and specialist building services for conservation projects will be an added advantage.
• Strong knowledge of Malaysian building services standards, electrical and mechanical regulations, Uniform Building By-Laws (UBBL), Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) requirements and statutory authority requirements.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD and engineering software. Experience with BIM/Revit and MEP coordination software will be an added advantage.
• Candidates who are residents of Melaka or currently based in Melaka will be given priority consideration due to project requirements and site accessibility.
