What they need
DAMAC Digital is building the backbone of the AI-driven economy. We design, build and operate AI-ready, hyperscale data centre infrastructure for hyperscalers, cloud providers and enterprises, backed by DAMAC Group's real estate and infrastructure expertise.
As demand for AI and cloud computing continues to accelerate, we're expanding rapidly and delivering the next generation of mission-critical facilities that will power businesses, innovation and connectivity for years to come.
Role overview
We're looking for experienced Mechanical Commissioning Engineers to support the delivery of some of the region's newest hyperscale and AI-ready data centre projects.
Commissioning is the final and most critical stage before a facility goes live. It's where design intent is validated, systems are challenged under real operating conditions, and resilience is proven through failure testing and integrated operations.
In this role, you'll take ownership of the commissioning process from concept design review through testing, validation and final handover, ensuring mechanical infrastructure performs safely, efficiently and reliably in a mission-critical environment.
What You'll Be Doing
- Review project documentation, including design drawings, specifications, Basis of Design (BOD), Owner's Project Requirements (OPR), method statements and commissioning checklists.
- Lead commissioning reviews throughout the project lifecycle, from concept design through construction and final handover.
- Develop and execute commissioning plans, procedures and testing strategies for critical mechanical systems.
- Prepare and review Level 1 to Level 5 commissioning scripts, test procedures and acceptance criteria.
- Coordinate closely with end users, contractors, consultants and project stakeholders to ensure commissioning activities remain on schedule.
- Supervise and witness testing of mechanical, cooling, controls and integrated building systems.
- Conduct functional, performance and capacity testing to validate operational readiness and system reliability.
- Lead failure scenario testing and Integrated Systems Testing (IST) to verify resilience under real-world operating conditions.
- Support Tier Certification of Constructed Facility (TCCF) activities and authority inspections where required.
- Identify, troubleshoot and resolve commissioning issues while driving timely closure of defects and corrective actions.
- Ensure complete and accurate turnover documentation is delivered to Operations and end users.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 8 years of experience across mechanical engineering, construction, commissioning and project delivery.
- At least 5 years of commissioning experience within data centre environments.
- Strong understanding of mission-critical cooling and mechanical infrastructure.
- Experience commissioning chilled water systems, CRAH/CRAC units, cooling towers, pumps, heat exchangers, BMS platforms and associated mechanical systems.
- Experience with liquid cooling technologies and modern high-density data centre cooling solutions.
- Familiarity with industry standards and best practices including ASHRAE, NFPA, Uptime Institute and TIA-942.
- Proven ability to analyse and resolve complex technical issues in fast-paced project environments.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience coordinating contractors, consultants, customers and internal teams.
- Experience leading commissioning activities across multidisciplinary project teams.
- Industry certifications such as Uptime ATD, CDCP, CDCS, or equivalent data centre certifications are highly regarded.
What You Can Expect
- End-to-end ownership of commissioning activities from design review through final handover.
- Exposure to some of the region's most advanced hyperscale and AI-ready data centre developments.
- Hands-on experience with cutting-edge cooling technologies, including liquid cooling and high-density compute environments.
- The opportunity to work alongside highly experienced engineering, construction and operations professionals.
- A front-row seat in one of the fastest-growing sectors of digital infrastructure, supporting the expansion of DAMAC Digital's regional project portfolio.
- Career growth opportunities within a rapidly expanding global data centre platform.
