Mechanical Component Engineer

Our client is an international wind energy company looking for a Mechanical Components Engineer to support the localization and technical qualification of key wind turbine components in China.

The role will act as the local technical specialist for selected mechanical components such as couplings, shrink discs, elastomers and related drivetrain components, working closely with suppliers and internal engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Support the development and localization of mechanical wind turbine components with suppliers in China.
• Work with global component and system engineering teams to ensure local suppliers meet technical specifications and validation requirements.
• Coordinate with Quality, Sourcing, Material Management and other internal functions on supplier and component-related matters.
• Support production teams on assembly, testing, validation and quality issues.
• Participate in root-cause analysis and 8D investigations for component failures or supplier quality issues.
• Support supplier qualification, technical reviews and component homologation activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of engineering experience within the wind industry.
• Strong understanding of mechanical components used in wind turbine drivetrain or rotating equipment.
• Experience working with suppliers on component development, technical validation or localization.
• Fluent Mandarin and English.
• Comfortable working across engineering, sourcing, quality and manufacturing teams.
