About the role

Westbison Technologies Pte Ltd is seeking a talented Mechanical Design Engineer or Assistant Mechanical Design Engineer to join our growing engineering team. This is a full-time position based in the Yishun North Region. In this role, you will play a crucial part in designing, developing, and optimising mechanical systems and components that drive our innovative product solutions. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to transform concepts into high-quality, reliable designs that meet both technical specifications and commercial requirements. Key responsibilities

• Develop and design mechanical components and systems using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software, / Solid Work, etc, ensuring adherence to engineering standards and specifications
• Conduct detailed engineering calculations and analysis to support design decisions and optimise component performance
• Prepare technical drawings, assembly diagrams, and design documentation for manufacturing and procurement purposes
• Collaborate with manufacturing, production, and quality teams to ensure designs are feasible, cost-effective, and meet production timelines
• Support prototype development and testing activities, documenting results and implementing design modifications as required
• Perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and simulations to validate designs and predict performance under various operating conditions
• Identify and recommend improvements to existing designs to enhance functionality, reliability, and manufacturing efficiency
• Maintain accurate and organised design documentation and maintain compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations
• Support senior engineers and contribute to project teams in a collaborative and proactive manner

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent professional qualification
• Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent design tools
• Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, materials science, and manufacturing processes
• Solid foundation in engineering mathematics and physics
• Knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and simulation software is advantageous
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work through complex technical challenges
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in technical documentation
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment
• Familiarity with industry standards and regulations relevant to mechanical design
• Previous internship or industrial experience in mechanical design is preferred but not essential for Assistant level positions
• Keen to learn and develop expertise in mechanical engineering throughout your career
