Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with strong expertise in Revit-based mechanical design, particularly in HVAC and ductwork systems. The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of experience, exceptional Revit proficiency, strong clash coordination capabilities, and a high-level ductwork design skillset.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed mechanical/HVAC designs and layouts using Revit.
• Produce accurate and coordinated mechanical drawings, models, and documentation.
• Design and develop HVAC ductwork systems, including duct routing, sizing, layouts, and coordination.
• Perform clash detection and coordination with architectural, structural, electrical, plumbing, and other MEP disciplines.
• Review and resolve clashes within Revit models and coordinate design changes with relevant teams.
• Ensure mechanical designs comply with project requirements, applicable codes, standards, and design specifications.
• Review engineering drawings, models, specifications, and project requirements for accuracy and constructability.
• Collaborate with engineers, BIM teams, designers, and project stakeholders throughout the design process.
• Identify and resolve design issues to ensure coordinated and constructible mechanical systems.
• Prepare and maintain high-quality Revit models and construction documentation.
• Participate in design reviews and provide technical input on mechanical and HVAC systems.

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional experience in Mechanical Design Engineering, preferably with strong HVAC experience.
• 10/10 proficiency in Revit with extensive hands-on experience in mechanical/HVAC modeling and design.
• High-level ductwork design skills with strong understanding of HVAC systems and ductwork layouts.
• Strong experience in clash detection and MEP coordination.
• Ability to coordinate mechanical systems with structural, architectural, electrical, and plumbing disciplines.
• Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, construction documentation, and industry standards.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce accurate, high-quality designs.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage design responsibilities within project deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working on commercial, residential, industrial, or large-scale building projects.
• Experience with US-based projects and standards is a plus.
• Experience working within a BIM environment and collaborating with multidisciplinary design teams.
• Experience with Navisworks or other clash detection/coordination software is an advantage.
