Mechanical Design Engineer

RESPONSIBILITY

• Interpret Customer requirements and specifications and translate them into new product concepts and detailed mechanical designs
• Lead New product development projects from concept, feasibility study, and design through prototyping, testing, and release to production.
• Create 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, and technical documentation.
• Perform engineering calculations and analysis (stress, thermal, tolerance stack-up) and select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes to meet customer specifications.
• Evaluate technical and cost risks of new designs, prepare Bills of Materials (BOM), and define manufacturing processes for new products.
• Build and test prototypes, and plan design verification/ validation activities to confirm new products meet customer and regulatory requirements.
• Act as the technical point of contact with customers during development, communicating design progress, addressing requirement changes, and resolving technical issues.
• Apply Design for Manufacturing and Assembly principles to ensure new designs are cost -effective and productive actions.
• Conduct root cause analysis on design-related issues during development or early production and drive corrective actions.
• Maintain design history documentation and contribute engineering input to project schedules and cost estimates for new product launches.

QUALIFICATION

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in mechanical design.
• Proficient in 3D CAD software, preferably SolidWorks.
• Demonstrated experience talking a product from customer requirement through concept, prototype, and into production.
• Solid understanding of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and engineering drawing standards.
• Practical knowledge of manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, sheet metal, injection molding, CNC) and DFM/DFA practices.
• Experience preparing BOMs, evaluating design/ part risk, and defining manufacturing processes for new products.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a methodical approach to toot cause analysis and design troubleshooting.
• Strong communication skills, comfortable liaising directly with customers as well as internal production, quality, and supplier teams.
• Working proficiency in English (written and spoken) in addition to Thai.
