Mechanical Design Engineer

• Key Responsibilities & Requirements:
• 2 to 3 years of hands-on experience in mechanical design and development using SolidWorks.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D modelling, assembly creation, and 2D drafting.
• Knowledge of sheet metal design, fabrication practices, and manufacturing processes.
• Good understanding of welding, bending, machining, cutting, and general fabrication techniques.
• Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), dimensional tolerances, and standard engineering drawing practices.
• Ability to prepare and maintain Bill of Materials (BOMs), engineering documentation, and drawing revision records.
• Basic knowledge of structural design principles, load calculations, and mechanical strength considerations.
• Sound understanding of engineering materials, including Mild Steel (MS), Stainless Steel (SS), Aluminium, and sandwich/insulated panels.
• Ability to interpret customer specifications, technical drawings, and project requirements, and translate them into manufacturable design solutions.
• Coordinate with production, fabrication, and quality teams to ensure design compliance and smooth execution of projects.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Preferred Skills:
• Experience in enclosure, shelter, cabinet, or structural fabrication design.
• Knowledge of manufacturing standards and design-for-manufacturing (DFM) principles.

Familiarity with ERP systems and engineering change management processes will be an added advantage.
